Saturday in New York City

Happy Friday everyone!

Weekend is here! Have you planned anything exciting for this weekend?
Photos I want to share with you today I took few weeks ago when we spent a day in Manhattan walking, eating, and watching a movie.
We took a ferry from Jersey City to NYC. I prefer ferries to trains, especially, when it's sunny outside.
I always feel like a tourist on a ferry and take pictures - the view is incredible.
Then we took a path which goes along the Hudson River (it's called Hudson River Greenway) and walked all the way to 34th Street with stops for a brunch and, of course, for pictures.
It doesn't matter what day it is or what time, there are always people on this path: walking, jogging, riding bikes. Also, there are few tennis fields, a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, a skatepark, kayaking lessons, a football field, a trapeze school, a Chelsea Piers, where you can play hockey, golf, and do many other activities.
One of the reasons I love NYC is its diversity: people, cultures, traditions, architecture...
Union Square was our last stop that day, we had a dinner in that neighborhood and then watched a movie.
That day I was wearing H&M cropped denim jacket (old, similar here),  J. Crew skirt, white t-shirt from Target, Steve Madden sandals, Marc by Marc Jacobs crossbody bag, Burberry sunglasses, and kate spade new york watch.

Stripes, Shoes, and Bags: Relaxed Sunday Evening

Hello everyone!

How have you been? Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend.
I apologize for posting only one blog post last week, will make it up to you this week and publish more posts.
We spent our long weekend in New Jersey, didn't travel far from home since we are dog sitting friend's puppy and also had some things to do at home.
This outfit I wore on Sunday, we went for an evening walk and then had a dinner in a Mexican restaurant.
Usually I don't wear black during summer but that day I didn't feel like wearing color, just wanted to wear something simple and comfortable.

This light-wash denim vest is from J Brand, I recently got it and my slip-on sneakers at Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th. Actually, the whole outfit but the t-shirt was purchased in Saks outlets at different times. I love their selection and, especially, additional discounts on already marked down prices (who doesn't like discount!?).

J Brand denim vest (similar here, also like this one),
Vince slip-on sneakers (similar here and here),
Zara linen v-neck t-shirt (similar),
Paige skinny jeans (similar here and here),
Lauren Ralph Lauren crossbody bag (old, similar),
kate spade new york watch
and Burberry sunglasses (old, similar).

Stripes, Shoes, and Bags: Back to Basics

Hello everyone!

How have you been?
Today I'm back with new outfit post. This outfit I wore last Friday night, we had dinner with friends in the city.
I couldn't decide what to wear since It was chilly outside and was supposed to rain that night (and it did... pouring rain started right after we had left home). When a process of choosing an outfit takes long time, I just follow a simple rule: stick to the basics.
And I chose basic white top (old, like this top from Mango) and black skinny jeans (Paige). I also added biker leather jacket to keep me warm and cheetah print shoes (old from Nine West; like this flats) to match the jacket and jeans.

In my book, biker jacket is a staple piece of a closet. It will never go out of style and you can combine it with everything. Usually leather jackets are pricey but I found an inexpensive option in Zara. Zara brings new style of leather jacket each season. I bought my first jacket from them 7 years ago (it was the only jacket I brought with me from Russia), it's still in a good shape and I wear it often.
We took Stewie for a walk before heading to Manhattan.
I also was wearing Sophie Hulme handbag and Burberry sunglasses.

Stripes, Shoes, and Bags: White Jeans

Happy Friday!

Wanted to say hi to you and share outfit that I wore for a walk with my dog couple days ago.
It's been cloudy and, sometimes, rainy in New York all week but it's supposed to clear up by Saturday. Hopefully, we will have nice sunny weekend.
White jeans are one of the must-haves of this Spring/Summer season. Boyfriend, skinny, cropped, ripped - I want them all! That day I was wearing white skinny slightly distressed jeans that I found in Zara.
My striped hooded parka is from Gap. It is no longer available but I found couple of similar once: this one is from Gap too and other one is from Asos.
That evening I wore grey tank top from 3.1 Philip Lim for Target collection, Converse, Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, and Kate Spade watch.

Sunday in Central Park

Happy Wednesday everyone!

How is your week so far? It's Wednesday evening already, time to make plans for the upcoming weekend.

As I mentioned in my previous post, last Sunday we went to Central Park. Since I haven't yet posted photos of the park on this blog, I will share Sunday's pictures with you.
We lived in Upper East Side for couple years and used to go to Central Park almost every weekend. I love this place and think I know all paths of this park.
Central Park was created in 1850, it was aimed to improve public health. The idea was to create a place where residents of New York City can rest and relax after days of hard work. Today Central Park continues to serve NYC residents. Many residents of New York do not own cars and Central Park gives them opportunity to "escape" the city, at the same time, staying in the city.
On Sunday Great Lawn was closed so New Yorkers occupied areas around it.
Did you know that Central Park covers 1.317 sq miles (3.41 km²) of Manhattan? It begins on 59th Street and ends on 110th Street.

That day was Japan Day in Central Park.

I understand there are too many pictures in this post but I love Central Park so much that couldn't not to post them.

Have you seen movie Bride Wars? This white building is Plaza Hotel where both brides-to-be wanted to be married in.

That day I was wearing dress from Gap (old, similar), jeans jacket from American Eagle, sandals from Zara, handbag from Sophie Hulme, Kate Spade watch, and Oscar de la Renta sunglasses (old).
